Cumulonimbus

A primary problem in weather forecasting is that obtaining high-resolution atmosphere measurements has been prohibitively expensive; we solve this with pressureNET, our open platform for sensor data collection. The recent ubiquity of smartphones has enabled collection of unprecedented quantities of live atmosphere observations. This data is valuable in many industries, such as weather forecasting and renewable energy production and storage, in the form of highly accurate atmosphere models and forecasts.

POSITION: CTO

Bio: Bachelor of Computing Science at Simon Fraser University, 6 years of Web Application development and Digital Marketing, 12 years of Software Development.

MOST COMPELLING ACHIEVEMENT TO DATE: Despite the number of unique and interesting projects I’ve worked on to date, I would actually list my work with Cumulonimbus as my greatest achievement. I’ve never worked on a project with such talented and passionate colleagues, and with such a far reaching domain. I think it’s exciting what we’ve achieved so far, and have high hopes for what’s yet to come!

Why are you an entrepreneur? I have a hunger for engineering that can only be satisfied by designing and implementing complex systems, and Cumulonimbus has given me ample opportunity to do just that. I’m driven to learn about new technologies and find applications for them, and the volume of data we’re receiving is pushing my knowledge to its limits on a constant basis.
